Website of the year 2015, North Central Region
Welcome to Shropshire D.A.
Shropshire D.A. is a small, but friendly, D.A.
We camp in one of the most beautiful and varied counties in Great Britain.
We cannot guarantee you good weather but we can promise you a very warm welcome to any of our meets, so why not come along and join us.
Some of the layout and content of the website is undergoing a change. All the information displayed is accurate, however some things may have moved or look a little different. Please bear with us whilst we complete the changes. Thank you for your understanding.
Extra meets for 2016 confirmed
Two extra meets have been confirmed for later on in the year; Ebury Hill 16th-18th September, and Knighton Social Club, 18th-20th November.
Both of these meets currently require stewards; if you can help, please let Richard Sutton know. Thank You.
Willington Lodge: 28th April-3rd May
26 Units attended our Rally at Lady Willington Camping and Caravan Park near Whitchurch where we were made most welcome by the owners. We had visitors from Lancashire & Cheshire, North Staffs. Staffs. The Folk Group and Yorkshire. Despite the weather we managed to erect the club tents - on the owners front lawn! in preparation for our social evenings. Saturday was a traditional Pie and Peas affair which went down well - did they taste better as the site owner had insisted on cooking them in her Aga? Sunday evening we resurrected the game of blocks which was won by Chairman Richard. Looking forward to meeting everyone on a field again soon
Thank you to Duncan & Rita for stewarding this meet, and apologies for the delay in uploading the report. Some pictures will follow also.
Knighton Social Club: 15th-17th April
20 Units attended our first ever visit to this site, including units from Chase, Staffordshire and North Staffs DAs.
Unfortunately, due to the condition of the ground, the football pitch was unavailable to us, so we had to relocate to the car park, but everyone was sited and were able to enjoy the warmth of the social club on both evenings (with chip butties on Saturday), and Coffee Morning on Sunday. Despite a wet Friday, the remainder of the weekend was sunny and we are able to enjoy the local area including walks along the canal. This site is hopefully being booked again for later in the year, and definitely for 2017. Thanks to Barry and June for Stewarding.
