Eccleshall Castle is a private family home situated on the edge of the small market town of Eccleshall in Staffordshire. It has been lived in by the Carter-Motley family for over one hundred years.
Throughout most of its long and sometimes turbulent history, the castle has been associated with the Bishops of Lichfield. The Castle has also had close connections with the town and with Holy Trinity Church throughout the years.
Eccleshall is a proud and thriving rural community that can trace its story back to the Domesday Book. The ruins of Eccleshall castle pay testament to a time when the town was fought over by great armies, or when it was home to powerful bishops.
Fletchers Family Garden Centre is a unique place to visit situated in the old town of Eccleshall. (Just over a mile from the castle) A family run garden centre offering something for everyone along with some interesting wildlife.
