Meet Report – Halloween at Red Lion Farm

17 units from various DA’s, including West Midlands, Staffordshire and Gloucestershire attended our booked Halloween meet at Red Lion Farm, Haughton.

On the Wednesday evening some people went for a meal at the local pub to celebrate our Chairman’s birthday, and a good time was had by all. Thursday and Friday were spent relaxing, with some families visiting the on-site farm animals and owl sanctuary, and of course sampling the fantastic homemade ice cream.

On Saturday afternoon, although it was a little breezy, we all enjoyed Ade’s games, including Golden Bucket and the cart winding, and the children enjoyed craft activities organised by Ali.

We moved onto the Pumpkin carving competition which was won by Lucas from West Midlands DA, followed by fantastic food, soup, hotdogs and cake prepared and served by Laura and her helpers – this was very well received by everyone. As it went dark the children went round the units doing trick or treat and having great fun.

Sunday morning was sunny, and coffee morning concluded a very successful and enjoyable meet.

Prizes were awarded to Lucas for the best pumpkin and to Sophie for squeezing 58 items in to a matchbox. Well done to them both.

Many thanks to Vince and Linda for stewarding, Laura and Richard and helpers for the catering, Ade and Ali for the games and entertainment, and Tracy and Andrew for doing the bookings.
