Friday 17th September, the sun was shining, the grass had been cut and Shropshire DA was ready to accept campers. Rally meet opened at 13:00pm.
By 18:00pm, 8 units had arrived and sited. It was the Chairman’s 50th Birthday (Andrew Booth) and several units visited a local Public House to celebrate his Birthday. A good night was had by all.
Saturday 18th September and a further THREE units rocked up. The sun still shone and we were truly spoilt by the receipt of such lovely warm September weather. At midday, the event shelter was erected, in readiness for a communal COVID safe gathering. The evening started with some meaningful conversation leading on to some fun and entertainment. Birthday cake was delivered and duly served. Everyone seemed to have a good night. Karaoke finished at 22:00pm.
Sunday 19th September, all but FOUR units began the painstaking task of cleaning & packing away prior to preparing for a long awaited Coffee Morning( first one in since before the COVID-19 Pandemic ) Everyone enjoyed the remainder of the Birthday cakes; some went offsite and explored the local countryside whilst other chilled in beautiful sunshine.By 16:00pm, Vince & Linda again stepped up to continue stewarding following the planned departure of Natasha & Jon whom stewarded the majority of the meet.
Monday 20th September, again, the sun shone and all remaining campers left for their following destinations.
A truly relaxing weekend was had by all, with some great friendships borne. It’s always good to welcome new campers but equally as nice to see those returning faces.
