Amy is Fundraising for Severn Hospice

At the AGM at Rushbury Village Hall, Amy cut 18 inches off her hair which she has donated to the Princess Trust who make wigs for Children and young people with hair loss, and fund vital research into childhood cancers.

Amy is also running the Shrewsbury 10k for Severn Hospice on Sunday 15th March in memory of 2 people, Roy Evans, he was a wonderful man who was loved by so many. He gave many years to Shropshire DA as Chairman, Vice Chairman and PRO to name a few. He championed everything the committee’s strove for and loved to stand up in an AGM and say what a wonderful job was being done in keeping the DA active. We all have fond memories of Roy over the years and he will be sadly missed. Amy is also running for the mother of a close friend who was diagnosed with cancer unexpectedly and sadly lost her fight within weeks rather than months. She spent her last days in the hospice who helped her and her family immensely when she was at her most vulnerable.

Severn Hospice is the DA’s Chairman’s Charity for 2020, they are with families from the moment they are referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help. It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can’t happen without you. For every £1 you donate, they will spend 86p directly on care – and use the remaining 14p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations helped us provide £9.88 million of caring services. Thank you – you’re amazing!

If you have anything you would like to donate please add to the page.  God forbid we ever should, but know if you may need help, the hospice is there to bring support to not only the individual, but to families also.
