A fantastic 39 adults and 15 children attended the 2019 Shropshire DA Christmas Party at Rushbury Village Hall, Wall-under-Heywood over the weekend of 13th-15th December.
Friday afternoon saw the arrival of those who were camping for the weekend, and in the evening there was a social evening in the hall with mince pies, mulled wine, a very difficult festive quiz compiled by Linda, craft activities for the children, and music and karaoke.
Saturday daytime the hall was readied for the main event of the weekend, by a band of willing volunteers ahead of the Prosecco reception and the Christmas Party.
Once again we were treated to a fabulous, fully catered, 3 course meal by Oak Apple catering, where new friendships were forged and existing ones enhanced. As Santa approached it began to snow, making his arrival even more magical for the children.
After Santa and his reindeer had flown off to their next visit and the tombolas had been completed, Becky held a very competitive game of Mr & Mrs with a festive twist. The competition ended in a draw between Arwel and Amy and Sean and Julia, with the former emerging triumphant after a sudden death round.
More fun games and the raffle followed, after which there was music and chatting until we headed back to our units for some well deserved rest!
A cold Sunday morning saw those campers who remained on site partake in coffee morning in the hall, enjoying some cake and good company, before we all packed up and headed for home.
Thanks to all who attended and for supporting the DA throughout 2019, to Vince and Linda for stewarding, and to all of the committee and other helpers for their assistance before, during and after the weekend
