Despite some rain in the week leading up to, and a very wet Friday, 16 units attended our Weston Park meet for the annual RAF Cosford Airshow.
With the weather being inclement as people arrived on site, it was a quiet start to proceedings, although the weather improved on Friday evening, allowing some socialising to take place as the mist descended across the park.
Unfortunately the heavy rain returned on Saturday morning, confining most people to their units, but as the rain stopped in the afternoon campers ventured out to listen to and watch the aircraft practising ahead of the next day’s airshow and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the park, and gradually the barbecues and people came out to enjoy a long and pleasant evening.
Sunday saw coffee morning for those who had not set off for the airshow, whilst watching more aircraft over head, and then some of the campers set off for the viewpoint within the park which gave a view of Cosford and the fantastic displays from the aircraft, and the ‘wow’ factor of the Red Arrows, some of whom flew directly above us!
Then it was back to the field to pack up and leave after a weekend of mixed weather but fantastic memories.
We are back again for the Airshow weekend of 12th – 15th June 2020, including the Sunday night so if you are planning to attend the Airshow you can return to your unit and relax after another hopefully fabulous show.
