A fantastic 42 adults and 7 children attended the 2018 Shropshire DA Christmas Party at Rushbury Village Hall, Wall-under-Heywood over the weekend of 7-9th December.
Friday afternoon saw the arrival of those who were camping for the weekend, and in the evening there was a social evening in the hall with mince pies, mulled wine, some games and festive music.
Saturday daytime provided the opportunity to explore the local area including nearby Church Stretton, or go for a gentle walk before the main event of the weekend, the renowned Christmas Party.
Once again we were treated to a fabulous, fully catered, 3 course meal, a visit from the man in a red suit with a white beard for the children, followed by a raffle and 2 tombolas, sandwiched between 2 sets from the entertainment for the evening, the amazing Times Square Band, who delivered an array of music to suit everyone, from the 60’s right through to the present day and had everyone on their feet dancing the night away.
The weekend was brought to a close on Sunday at coffee morning, where we all enjoyed mince pies.
Many thanks to all who attended and supported the DA, and to Vince and Linda for stewarding, Laura and Ann and all those that helped for organising the catering and for the wonderful table dressing, and Maddie and Rita for running the tombola.
We Look forward to seeing you all at our first meet of 2019, which will be at High Ercall village hall for the Valentines meet,15th – 17th February.
