We welcomed 29 units from numerous DA’s including Staffordshire, Yorkshire, Chesterfield, Chase, Birmingham, Hereford & Worcester, West Midlands and of course Shropshire, to our annual breakfast meet.
The weather threatened to put a dampener on the breakfast but thankfully it was cloudy but dry. A special thanks to all that helped the committee with the preparation of the breakfast which everyone enjoyed.
The grounds of Weston Park are stunning and people wandered off to enjoy them and maybe to walk off the breakfast. The children played on the adventure playground, enjoyed a trip on the train and then a piece of cake in the tea rooms if they had made room.
In the afternoon Ade and Ali put on a games afternoon which was thoroughly enjoyed and again it stayed dry for us.
Sunday brought sunshine for the coffee morning and then with the noise of the aircraft flying around the area some of us walked up to the viewing point within the ground of Weston Park and enjoyed the airshow, the Red Arrows were spectacular.
It was so nice to meet new people and also lovely to see June and Roy Evans out with us again and to hear Roy speak so highly of all the help they received in setting up their unit. The friendly club at its finest!!!
Thanks to Roy for presenting the prizes to the winners of the games afternoon.
