Shropshire DA Christmas Party 2017

The 2017 Shropshire DA Christmas party was held over the weekend of 15^th – 17^th December at Rushbury Village Hall.

Despite the wintry weather that had been experienced during the week, attendance was excellent. 

Friday evening a social evening was held in the hall, with music, games, mince pies and nibbles which was enjoyed by all.

Saturday afternoon saw the hall dressed for the meal, and guests arrived for their welcome drinks and a chat whilst the caterers prepared the meals.

Once again, the caterers did not disappoint with a fabulous 3 course meal being served.

After the meal Father Christmas arrived all the way from Australia to deliver gifts for the children, and then it was time for the Christmas cards to be handed out and the raffle to be held.

Our evening entertainment ‘The Swinnertones’ who returned after being fantastic last year, then took to the stage and soon had everyone up dancing and singing, they also helped us to celebrate Duncan’s birthday and Vince and Linda’s Ruby Wedding Anniversary. During the interval the Chocolate Tombola was held before The Swinnertones continued, ending a fantastic evening by having everyone on the dance floor joining into The Beatles classic “Let it Be”.

Once again another fantastic party which will be remembered for a long time, many thanks to all who attended but especially to all of our Committee who all worked extremely hard before and during the party to ensure that it all went smoothly.
