Campers started to roll in at 1pm thick and fast. The sun was shining and the sky was blue with some light fluffy clouds. By 4pm, 12 units had been sited and they kept on rolling in. Before you knew it, by Friday evening, we had 17 units onsite from:

Friday night was free & easy night. Some met-up in the Social Club whilst others sat around the campfire & Tilley lamp. Beautiful.
After a light frost, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day despite the easterly wind. A further unit arrived, shortly followed by a feathered friend; a ~ 1 week old baby Mallard duckling. Jean Michael pointed it out to us and so we all set-out to try and find it’s mother. We searched nearby fields and country lanes as well as the canal embankment, to no avail. Duckling was named Billy Jean a) because Jean found it and b) it was quite a mover !!! 😊
Saturday evening, we all met-up at the Social Club, to enjoy everyone’s company at the Country & Western 60’s & 70’s evening. A good time was sincerely had by all and yet again further new friends were made. We also managed to catch-up with some dear friends that we met at our Valentine’s meet at High Ercall.
On Sunday, we held the customary “Coffee Morning”, which again, was well attended. Many shared further interest in joining us in a field somewhere soon at our future meets. North Central Region booklets were made available for people to take a copy, as was the Shropshire DA sites list.
Everyone started to pack away, and best wishes for a safe journey home were delivered.
Once we returned home with Billy Jean, the girls took her to Cuan Wildlife Rescue Centre at Much Wenlock, where she now resides, with four other Mallard baby ducklings. All are doing extremely well.
