The North Central Region AGM and Alzheimers Charity Weekend was a fantastic event.

The weekend was held at Oswestry Showground,  a great location and it was lovely to meet up with friends old and new.

It was a fun packed weekend and all credit goes to the North Central Committee and the working party, you certainly know how to put on a good weekend!

Friday night we enjoyed a social evening with bingo, tombola and a great disco to dance the night away.

Saturday morning the AGM was held followed by the opening ceremony and buffet then we all moved outside for the 50 mile charity walk. It was calculated that collectively we needed to complete 176 laps of the arena to complete the 50 miles but the support was outstanding and over 500 laps were completed and one participant raised £170 sponsorship and completed 10 miles!

Once the laps were completed the inter DA games commenced, water balloon tennis (that was fun to watch) and human hungry hippos along with a dog show and a brass band. 

The evening entertainment was fancy dress and a singer called Danny Miller who was superb and got everyone up having a good time. We also celebrated the 50th Birthday of North Wales DA with bubbles and cake.

Sunday we enjoyed coffee at the prize presentation with the inter DA shield going to North Staffs DA. Pat Shaw announced that just over £2100 had been collected over the weekend with another £850 on the way, what an amazing achievement! 

Alan Slater NCR Chairman then conducted the closing ceremony thanking everyone for attending and for such a successful weekend.
