We arrived Friday on a overcast morning with a promise of sunshine to come for the weekend!!

This being a booked meet we knew how many units to expect, 23 in total made up of 15 caravans, 5 motor homes. 2 tents and 1 trailer tent.

By early afternoon the rain was coming down and continued falling for a number of hours, making for two very wet stewards by the time the last unit arrived during Friday evening.

We went to bed hoping for fine weather the next day.

Saturday dawned fine, bright and warm, remaining like it all day, which helped create a relaxing atmosphere for the county show.

A variety of events took place all day in the main arena – the Monster Trucks being the main attraction – while cattle, sheep and horses were judged in the show rings, and a fun dog show proved very popular.

With a variety of trade stalls selling crafts and food there was something for everyone, even a Kids Zone to keep the children amused.

The opinions on site were very favourable on the show.

In the early hours of Sunday morning a terrific thunderstorm started which continued as heavy rain for the rest of the night. Waking up to a very wet field and with it still raining, coffee morning was given the thumbs down to allow people to do their own thing.

By lunch time the sun came out along with the campers and their bbq’s.

Monday arrived and it was fine and dry, allowing everyone to pack away dry.

Thank you to all the visitors from other DA’s for supporting us; In all there were 8 other DA’S represented.

The site, which was a new one for Shropshire DA, served us well, and no doubt it will not be the last visit there.
