Meet Report – Canal Central, Maesbury Marsh – 16th-19th May 2019

Saturday saw us celebrating the DA's 68th birthday, with most units attending an afternoon tea provided by our stewards, Ken and Jean. Thanks to them for organising.
Wow! That is all we could say at our Easter Meet at Longden Village Hall, near Shrewsbury An incredible 31 units from numerous DAs and sections around the Midlands and beyond joined us across the 5 days of the meet at this beautiful, peaceful site in the heart of the Shropshire countryside.
Campers started to roll in at 1pm thick and fast. The sun was shining and the sky was blue with some light fluffy clouds.By 4pm, 12 units had been sited and they kept on rolling in.Before you knew it, by Friday evening, we had 17 units onsite
Sixteen units from across the Midlands, including West Midlands DA and BCC, Derbyshire, Chase, North Staffs, and of course, Shropshire, attended our first of 2 meets this year at this popular venue near Bridgnorth.
At our recent AGM, our Treasurer, Ken Michael, was delighted to present the trophy for 'Most Camped' for the previous year, to the winners, Vince and Linda Beddoes, who joined us at 14 meets.
We welcomed 19 members to Shropshire DA’s Annual General Meeting. It is fantastic to see the support from the members.
t has been a long time since Shropshire DA held a Valentines meet, so we were unsure of what to expect, we needn't have worried though as a fantastic 21 units from Shropshire, Derbyshire, Staffs, North Staffs, Lancashire & Cheshire, Worcester & Hereford and West Midlands, arrived in unseasonably warm weather for our first meet of 2019.
A fantastic 42 adults and 7 children attended the 2018 Shropshire DA Christmas Party at Rushbury Village Hall, Wall-under-Heywood over the weekend of 7-9th December.
Although a familiar venue for Shropshire DA, this was the first time that we had visited Weston Park for their bonfire & fireworks event. 16 units attended over the 5 days of the meet, enjoying the Park in its autumnal glory. This was very much a free and easy meet, allowing people to explore the park and its attractions and the local area at their leisure.
